This Year's Model Updates:

In an attempt to revive Monte Carlo's performance image, Chevrolet adds a supercharged SS version for 2004. The LS gets new 17-inch aluminum wheels, and there are a couple new appearance packages, Sport and Winner's Circle, available on the LS and non-supercharged SS.

Pros:
  • Spacious interior, low sticker price, strong acceleration with supercharged V6.
Cons:
  • Mediocre performance on non-supercharged models, bland interior with cheap materials, no passenger side-impact airbag.

  • My Monte Carlo - 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
    By -

I bought my Monte Carlo in November 2003. So far the car has performed beautifully. It rides very smooth, the pick up is great and the fuel milage I get is about 28 on the highway and 24 in the city. The interior has a little to be desired the leather is not soft it looks like vinyl, the seats are not as comfortable as I would like them to be but then I was used to driving a Eldorado. But to compare the two I think other than the interior the syle and drive of the two vehicles are about the same except for about $25000.00 cheaper. I would recommend the Monte Carlo anytime.

Vary fun car to drive. Handles well, plenty of front seat room. Back seat difficult to get into. Looks really good but on mine any how the paint is too soft. Scratches vary easily even when washing. Power is more then sufficient. Great acceleration but tire spin is a problem even with the ESR.

I bought my SS a year ago and couldnt be happier with it. It is fun to drive, comfortable and gets great fuel economy to boot! I average over 30mpg on the highway and usually get around 26mpg overall.

  • Love my Monte - 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo

Id never been in a Monte Carlo until I test drove mine. It was love as soon as I sat in the drivers seat. Way comfortable, love how it handles. But it seems like its lost power and isnt fast enough for me anymore. It didnt hold its value as well as i was hoping it would have too but its one hell of a solid car!

  • The Only Chevy for Me - 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo

This was the only 2Dr that would fit me, im a 63 big guy and they mention the Caviler, first off it sux, second i said "look at me" then they showed me the Monte, I used to have a monte but that was a 1980, and it never left me on the side of the road for any thing mechanical and it was at 98,000 miles and still ran strong!, so i said what the hell, now i love this car, its a sport/muscle car for the big boyz.

  • Supercharged is nice but not perfect... - 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo

I was the first one in the area to get a hold of one of these sweet cars! Black with the silver ground effects. 240 supercharged is really nice. Its really the wifes car and let me tell you it gets the looks. Nice on trips, been on a few in it. Even got caught speeding...opps!

  • Awesome car!! - 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo

This is our 3rd Monte carlo. The first was an 86 LS, the second was a 2002 LS. We got addicted and just bought the 2004 SS, loaded. This is a fun car to drive. The SS package is just the best. It handles well in all weather and hugs corners better than any car we have driven.

  • One Sick Ride! - 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
    By -

I bought my SS Supercharged Monte Carlo in March of 2008 as a traveling vehicle. Im in the US Navy and commute once a month at least 500 miles (8hour) drive to and from the desert. And the Monte Carlo is sick! It handles with care and is definitley reliable. Mine has taken me everywhere, literally! The only problem I have had with it is the sensors with the fuel system my gas guage went out on me and stays on full at all times. But its not a big deal really I just keep track of my mileage as I drive cross country! Other than that I love my new whip and plan on keeping it at least 20 years, or until I buy my BMW one day. I strongly recommend this vehicle!
